Heel & Hammer Cobblers · Observatory
Resoles, heels, stitching and zips, all done by hand at one bench on Lower Main Road. Bring in your tired pair. Most of them go home good for another ten years.
From the counter book
Notes left on the counter, emails, the odd WhatsApp voice note. We pinned the best ones above the bench.
Every one of these is a real pair we fixed.
My dad's 1987 Grenson brogues. Two other places told me to bin them. Heel & Hammer resoled them and rebuilt the heels, and now they're outlasting my sneakers.
Dropped my work boots on Tuesday and picked them up Thursday. New Vibram soles and the toe caps re-covered for R720, exactly what the quote said.
Snapped a heel on the way to my cousin's wedding. I phoned at nine, collected them by twelve and danced all night.
They told me not to fix my R300 sandals because the repair would cost more than the shoes. Who does that? Now they get all my good shoes.
What we fix
Real prices, real turnaround times. We quote at the counter before we touch a thing, and nothing changes without a phone call first.
Quotes are free. Always.
Leather or Vibram soles, stitched or glued on. Welted shoes get a proper Goodyear resole.
New heel blocks and top pieces, nailed and trimmed by hand.
Drop off a pair
Fill this in and a quote will be waiting when you walk in. Or just bring them to the counter. That works too.
Most repairs ready in 3–5 days.

A Goodyear resole, new heels and three coats of wax. R830 all in, ready in five days.
